Xin Chen obtained his Ph.D degree from the University of Texas (UT) M.D Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) and the UT Health Science Center at Houston. Right after his graduation, he continued his scientific research at the Department of Epigenetics and Molecular Carcinogenesis of MDACC to work as a postdoctoral fellow starting Dec 2012. He worked as a Research Associate at the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Roswell Park Cancer Institute from May 2016-May 2017. He then became a physician scientist at the Department of Oncology at Tongji Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China. His current research focuses on: (1) understanding the mechanisms of therapy resistance in malignant tumors; (2) identification, characterization and therapeutic targeting of cancer stem cells in solid tumors.
