About This Journal

  • Aims & Scope

Digital Agriculture is an international peer-reviewed, Open Access journal focusing on the design, development and application of digital technologies in agriculture, including precision farming, smart irrigation, precision animal management, agricultural robotics, and big data analytics. The scope of the journal encompasses research on a broad range of digital technologies for agriculture, including but not limited to agricultural sensors and sensing, agricultural Internet of Things (Ag-IoT), agricultural and rural connectivity, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), autonomous farming systems, agricultural energy harvesting, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), agricultural cloud computing, and human-computer interaction. Studies on integrating these technologies to support decision-making in various aspects of agriculture, such as animal management, crop management, soil health, water resources, and pest control, are particularly encouraged. Additionally, research on the development of digital technologies for sustainable agriculture, including the reduction of environmental impacts, harvesting resources, and optimizing resource utilization, is also within the journal’s scope.

The aim of Digital Agriculture is to provide a platform for disseminating high-quality research and data on digital technologies for agriculture and to facilitate the exchange of ideas and knowledge between researchers in the field. The journal strives to publish research and data that addresses fundamental scientific questions, as well as studies with practical applications, with the ultimate goal of promoting the development of sustainable and efficient agriculture practices that can improve food security and contribute to global sustainability. Digital Agriculture will specifically emphasize open and reproducible research by facilitating the publication of digital artifacts, including datasets, open-source software, and reproducible evaluation methods, in addition to research articles.

The journal accepts various article types, including Original Research, Review, Perspectives, Communication, Technical Report, and Digital Artifacts. Although authors are encouraged to be succinct, there is no restriction on the length of the papers or the number of figures and tables.
