Battery Materials is an international peer-reviewed, Open Access journal that publishes original research articles, reviews, and perspectives on all aspects of battery materials, including their synthesis, characterization, performance evaluation, and application in various types of batteries. The journal welcomes contributions from materials science, chemistry, physics, engineering, and related fields, with a focus on materials development for energy storage technologies. Articles relating to the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in accelerating development of battery materials will be encouraged.
The scope of the journal encompasses a broad range of battery materials, including but not limited to, electrode materials, electrolytes, separators, current collectors, enabling additives and interface engineering. Research papers on new materials for emerging battery technologies, such as solid-state batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and lithium-sulfur batteries, are particularly encouraged. Additionally, studies on the design and optimization of battery materials at the nanoscale, as well as investigations into the fundamental mechanisms underlying battery materials performance and safety are also within the scope of the journal.
The aim of Battery Materials is to provide a platform for the dissemination of high-quality research on battery materials and to facilitate the exchange of ideas and knowledge between researchers and technologists in the field. The journal strives to publish research that addresses fundamental scientific questions, as well as studies with practical applications, with the goal of advancing the development of next-generation battery technologies.
Although authors are encouraged to be succinct, there is no restriction on the length of the papers, or number of figures and tables. Figures, both in black & white and in color are accepted.
